Justworks setup
Justworks connects through the unified HRIS connector. There is nothing to create in advance: you authorize the connection by signing in during setup.
Before you start
- Administrator access to your company's Justworks instance.
- Your company must be on an active paid plan with Justworks.
These steps reflect Axiad's current understanding of Justworks' configuration. Because Justworks is a third-party product, there may be variations between your experience and what this guide describes, depending on the version in use and recent updates.
If you find a significant difference, or anything that doesn't make sense, let us know through Axiad support.
Step 1 — Open the Justworks sign-in
Follow Connect your HR system and choose Justworks. The connection window opens the Justworks sign-in.

Step 2 — Sign in
Sign in with your Justworks credentials.

Step 3 — Continue through the first screen

Step 4 — Authorize
Review the access being requested and select Authorize.
If sex or date-of-birth information is part of what's requested, Justworks shows an additional checkbox. If it isn't requested, you won't see one.
Mesh uses HR data for identity correlation and risk assessment, and does not need either field — leave the box unchecked unless you have a specific reason.

After connecting
The connector appears in your connectors list with Health: Initializing while the first collection runs, then moves to Good. Access is read-only: Mesh does not write back to Justworks.
If it doesn't come online, see Troubleshoot HR connectors.
Troubleshooting
| What you see | Likely cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Authorization fails | The company is not on an active paid Justworks plan | Confirm the plan status with your Justworks account team |
| Sign-in succeeds but authorization does not complete | The account lacks administrator rights | Have a Justworks administrator complete the authorization |
