# JazzHR setup

JazzHR connects through the **unified HRIS connector**. This page covers the
JazzHR-side configuration you complete first. Once it's done, add the connector
in Mesh by following [Connect your HR system](../connect-your-hr-system.md).

You finish with one value: an **API key**.

These steps reflect Axiad's current understanding of JazzHR's configuration.
Because JazzHR is a third-party product, there may be variations between your
experience and what this guide describes, depending on the version in use and
recent updates.

If you find a significant difference, or anything that doesn't make sense, let
us know through Axiad support.

## Step 1 — Find your API key

1. Sign in to JazzHR and select **Settings** in the top navigation.

2. Select **Integrations** in the second-level navigation.

3. Copy the API key.

## Step 2 — Connect in Mesh

Follow [Connect your HR system](../connect-your-hr-system.md), choose JazzHR in
the connection window, paste the key, and select **Submit**.

## After connecting

The connector appears in your connectors list with **Health: Initializing**
while the first collection runs, then moves to **Good**. Access is
**read-only**: Mesh does not write back to JazzHR.

## Troubleshooting

| What you see | Likely cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| The Integrations page is not available | The account lacks the rights to view settings | Ask a JazzHR administrator to retrieve the key |
| Authentication fails | The key was partially copied | Re-copy the full value from the integrations page |
